Head of Legal
We are seeking a Head of Legal to join a young and dynamic CSP in central Malta.
This is a key leadership position designed for a strategic thinker with exceptional legal expertise and a commitment to excellence. The role provides extensive exposure to a diverse range of sectors, including the rapidly evolving iGaming and crypto industries.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the legal team, fostering effective communication and collaboration across all activities.
Provide expert legal counsel to both firm management and clients on complex regulatory, corporate, and commercial issues.
Review and supervise team output, rigorously maintaining the highest standards of quality across all legal deliverables.
Ensure strict adherence to the firm's quality control standards across the entire portfolio of legal services.
Allocate client engagement tasks and responsibilities efficiently among team members to optimize resource use.
Act as the primary legal liaison with external counsel, regulatory bodies, clients, and internal departments as necessary.
Manage project budgets and timelines, proactively communicating progress and developments to clients and partners.
Identify and capitalize on business development opportunities to drive the growth of the legal services function.
Serve as a critical point of contact for clients, focused on building and sustaining strong, trusted relationships.
Offer direct legal support to senior management for all ad hoc legal and client-related requests.
Requirements
A warranted lawyer qualified to practice law in Malta.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience gained within a reputable law firm or corporate service provider environment.
A strong foundational and practical background in corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
Exceptional proficiency in both written and verbal Maltese and English.
Demonstrated attention to detail and a strong focus on quality outcomes.
Proven ability to work independently and drive initiatives forward.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
A proactive team player with a resilient and positive 'can-do' attitude.
