International Web Access & Compliance Engineer (Remote)

Level: IC6 / Principal
Location: Remote, option for Estonia or Malta Hybrid.
Contract: Permanent, Fixed Term (6–12 months) or Service Agreement
Reports to: CTO

We are looking for a highly experienced International Web Access & Compliance Engineer to take ownership of web reachability, resilience and geo-performance across multiple international markets.

This is a Principal-level technical role for someone with a strong background in networking, infrastructure or SRE, who can diagnose and solve complex regional accessibility and performance issues across DNS, BGP/routing, CDN, hosting and IP/domain reputation.

Key responsibilities

  • Own international web reachability and geo-performance across different markets.

  • Diagnose issues including DNS, routing/peering, CDN, TLS, IP reputation and content filtering.

  • Design and manage multi-region CDN, DNS (Anycast/GeoDNS) and hosting infrastructure.

  • Monitor regional availability and performance using tools such as RIPE Atlas, OONI, traceroute/mtr and synthetic monitoring.

  • Manage domain/IP reputation and work with ISPs, security and filtering providers on legitimate delisting and recategorisation processes.

  • Support the technical side of market entry, licences and registrations in cooperation with Legal and Compliance.

  • Define technical standards, architecture and monitoring strategies.

  • Act as the senior technical authority, advising the CTO and senior stakeholders on risks, infrastructure priorities and market readiness.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience in Network, Infrastructure or Site Reliability Engineering.

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of DNS, Anycast, GeoDNS, DNSSEC, BGP, routing, TLS, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3.

  • Production experience with Cloudflare, Akamai, Fastly, CloudFront or similar CDN/edge platforms.

  • Experience troubleshooting international/regional web reachability.

  • Strong knowledge of Terraform/IaC and monitoring tools such as Grafana or Datadog.

  • Experience working with Legal/Compliance teams and communicating complex technical topics to senior stakeholders.

  • Comfortable making architecture-level decisions and operating as a technical authority across multiple teams.

  • Strong judgement around technical solutions versus legal/regulatory restrictions.
