Head of Sports Betting Operations - Botswana

Job Title: Head of Sports Betting Operations
Location: Botswana

We are currently partnering with a gaming and technology solutions provider delivering technology, operational expertise, and strategic support to licensed operators across lottery, digital gaming, and sports betting.

They are seeking a senior leader to head and drive Sports Betting Operations in Botswana. This is a high-impact role offering significant ownership across both operational setup and commercial growth, positioned at C-level or senior operations leadership level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the setup, launch, and ongoing management of sportsbook operations (retail and online)

  • Oversee end-to-end betting operations, including 24/7 activities and vendor management

  • Manage trading and risk functions, including odds setting, market monitoring, and live betting operations

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (AML, KYC, data protection, licensing requirements)

  • Drive commercial performance, including revenue optimisation, player acquisition, retention, and marketing initiatives

  • Work closely with technology teams on platforms, CMS, and performance analytics

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for sportsbook growth and market expansion

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sportsbook operations leadership (online and/or retail)

  • Strong background in trading, risk management, and betting operations

  • Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks within gaming

  • Experience driving commercial performance and growth strategies

  • Exposure to gaming platforms, CMS, and data-driven decision making

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale operations from the ground up
