Contract Type: Service Agreement (Self-employed)
Schedule: Flexible full-time (40 hours/week), Mon–Fri, 12:00–21:00 EEST (includes 1-hour lunch break)
Salary Range: $4,000 – $5,500 gross/month (based on skills and experience)

Our client is looking for a Senior Python Developer to join their growing remote team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in architecting and building the backend of their product. From integrating with clearinghouse APIs and video conferencing platforms to ensuring seamless task scheduling, your work will form the backbone of our services.

Responsibilities:

• Build the core product from scratch using Python and Django
• Design and develop scalable, secure REST APIs in collaboration with the dev team, CTO, product owner, and QA
• Actively participate in product planning — your ideas will help shape the solution
• Optimize the backend for performance to meet both current and future demands
• Implement strong security practices to protect sensitive patient data
• Work in a lean, focused team that values outcomes over unnecessary meetings or bureaucracy

Requirements:

• 4+ years as a professional Web Developer, primarily focused on Python
• Strong experience with at least one Python web framework (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI)
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with SQL databases and ORMs
• Solid knowledge of async task queues such as Celery
• Familiarity with Git and modern version control practices
• Proven success in optimizing API performance
• Understanding of security best practices for web development
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Django REST Framework
• Familiarity with AWS services: EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, ElastiCache
• Understanding of OpenAPI specifications
• Prior experience implementing web app security features
• Exposure to unit testing in Python
• Experience with AI model integration or tuning
• Background in startups or the mental health sector
