As the Java Technical Architecture Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping the core backend systems of our platform. You will act as a bridge between our technical infrastructure and product requirements, working closely with frontend, product, design, and DevOps teams to deliver a fast, reliable, and scalable gaming experience.

You will be responsible for architectural decisions, system stability, code quality, and guiding the engineering team to deliver high-quality solutions in a high-traffic, high-availability environment.

This role requires relocation to Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a senior technical leader with:

• 8+ years of Java backend development experience

• 3+ years of system architecture experience

• Proven ability to lead systems from 0 to 1

• Strong judgment and stability in high-concurrency, high-pressure transaction systems

Experience or strong interest in iGaming business logic is essential, including areas such as:

• Betting and settlement

• Cashback and rebate logic

• Risk control

• Delayed settlement and compensation mechanisms

You should be comfortable working with modern distributed systems capable of handling millions of requests, using technologies such as Spring Boot, MyBatis, Kafka, Redis, and MySQL.

Experience with crypto payment integrations, multi-wallet systems, microservices optimisation, and remote/global team collaboration is highly desirable.

Strong communication skills, leadership ability, and a hands-on mindset are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & System Design

• Lead the overall backend system architecture and technology selection (Java-based)

• Design and build scalable, high-availability, high-concurrency distributed systems

• Support millions of betting and gaming requests

Core Platform Development

• Lead development of key modules, including:

  • Wallet systems

  • Betting and settlement engines

  • Cashback and rebate logic

  • Game lobby integrations

  • User account systems

Reliability & Scalability

• Design and implement:

  • Idempotency handling

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Technical Skills

• 8+ years of Java backend development experience

• Strong expertise in:

• 3+ years of large-scale distributed system architecture experience

Domain Experience

• Experience in iGaming / online gambling / crypto casino platforms (Slots, Crash, Live Casino, Sportsbook)

• Familiarity with common gaming business logic such as rebates, commissions, delayed cashback, and betting risk control

• Experience with cryptocurrency systems (USDT, MetaMask, wallet generation, on-chain transactions) is a strong plus
