Our client is a well-funded iGaming startup which will be making a strong impact in the Romanian market. With a focus on innovation, security, and compliance, they are now looking for a Head of AML & Payments to lead and oversee their anti-money laundering (AML) and payment operations. As the Head of AML & Payments, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with AML regulations, managing payment processes, and preventing financial risks. You will play a key role in developing robust AML policies, optimizing payment workflows, and ensuring smooth transactions for players.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive AML strategy aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the monitoring and investigation of suspicious transactions and ensure compliance with AML laws.
• Manage and optimize payment processing systems, ensuring secure and efficient transactions.
• Collaborate with regulators, financial institutions, and internal teams to maintain compliance.
• Lead the development and execution of risk assessment policies and fraud prevention measures.
• Stay updated on Romanian and international AML regulations, adapting strategies accordingly.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on AML best practices.
• Work closely with compliance, finance, and customer support teams to enhance payment processes.

Requirements:

• Experience: 3+ years in AML, compliance, or payments, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of AML regulations, KYC procedures, and fraud prevention in the iGaming sector.
• Languages: Fluency in English & Romanian is required.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with AML software, transaction monitoring systems, and payment gateways.
• Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical skills and attention to compliance requirements.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to develop strategies, manage teams, and drive compliance culture.
